Ela morreu ontem
Regardless of how we feel about Nasir El-Rufai, there is no reason to keep him incarcerated for as long as he has been. The true test of our beliefs and values lies not in how we uphold them when it is convenient but when it is inconvenient.
Everyone who has followed my work knows what I think about Nasir's politics and everything he has done. But I will be the first to say the rule of law must be followed. And that in a democracy you do not get to pick and choose who should be accorded human rights. I say this as someone from Kaduna, who has both political and personal grievances against Nasir El-Rufai. Release him, or at least treat him with the dignity every human deserves (whether they have been accused of a crime or not) and let him have his day in court.
Ordinarily, you’ll think this is a very vacuous, dumb and fallacious reasoning. But the scariest part is that this is what consultants and overzealous aides tell our leaders via PPT presentations that things are working and our leaders end up grandstanding that the nation is fine.
There is no ethnic group in the whole world that gives birth to millions of children & abandon them in the streets the way Hausa people do. We have the worst number of child neglect in the world despite being so called “Religious Muslims”.
ICPC is after El Rufai and we are told we should allow them to do their job but FG cleared Gbajabiamila instead of ICPC or EFCC.
All because he is Yoruba.
This is what we have been advocating for. Huge investment in talent development. Don Anele had the raw talent all along, but it took Alex and his team to groom him and give him the platform to become what he is today.
I see good people in our space doing this too. From Dr MT to Sir Jarus and other senior figures who keep investing their time and resources to pull young Nigerian talents up.
We need to bring this energy home. I am advocating for regional competitions of this kind across Nigeria. We need to start placing huge rewards on academic excellence so the younger generation can be motivated.
Like my mum always says: never fault a man who does good, no matter how small. You can see how the ripple effect of one good deed keeps manifesting every day.
Thank you once again @winexviv
Video showing a lady who allegedly pleaded with officials, saying she needed to call a nurse to care for her sick son, but was reportedly arrested for violating the Saturday sanitation exercise in Anambra State. By the time she was released and returned home, the child had allegedly passed away. 😭
We must not allow this case to disappear from public attention. The allegation by a female UNIOSUN student of assault during a military raid on her hostel demands a transparent and thorough investigation.
The uniform must never become a shield for violence, abuse or impunity. The Army announced an investigation, but Nigerians deserve to know: What is the status? Have those responsible been identified? What support and access to justice have been provided to the survivor?
Safe Schools must mean protection from all forms of violence, including abuse by those entrusted with protecting us.
We are still watching. We are still asking questions. We will not forget.

Hey @HQNigerianArmy one of your retired soldiers who happens to be my father was kidnapped 2 weeks ago in his hometown in kebbi state and guess what??? They’re torturing him for being a soldier and demanding a ridiculous amount of 25M. What are we going to do?
If 3 Black people took a White man on a boat expedition and didn’t return with him the president would be making a speech right now.
Rest in power Nolan Wells
Then why is he President if he is shielded away from the realities of the common man.
How does he Preside over a people he has no idea what is going on with them.
