Double trouble for membranous nephropathy! Dual-Ag MN have been reported: some co exist with PLA2R1. Nearly 90% of cases have hematuria. Further questions remain: how do these patients differ clinically in terms of clinical characteristics, severity or outcomes? @ASNKidney
Key take away from Dr. Nasrโ s talk about Cryo GN (one of my fav MGRS).
- Type 2 Cryo is the most common type, HCV being the most common.
- Non-HCV type 2 cryo, still has sizable association with lymphoproliferative d/o>> so attempt to rule this out is suggested โ ๐ฉธ #KidneyWk
Another positive Phase 3 trial of Hit 1 targeted therapy. Awaiting to hear the FDA decision about drug approval by this December so stay tuned. #KidneyWk#IgAN
Presented at #KidneyWk:
In an interim analysis, sibeprenlimab, a humanized IgG2 monoclonal antibody that inhibits the proliferation-inducing ligand APRIL (a key driver of IgA nephropathy), reduced proteinuria as compared with placebo. Full VISIONARY phase 3 trial results: https://t.co/zSyiaVVPlQ

Great talk by Dr. Falk re: Longterm remission of therapy (LTROT) in ANCA asso GN. Ultimate goal that we should aim for.
-1/3 of ANCA pt achieved this
-risk of relapse decreases with time(10-15% first 1-2 years, 1-2%/yr post 2 y). #KidneyWk
Atacicept, double BAFF and APRIL blockade, has shown promising result and met primary endpoint for UPCR reduction at 36 weeks in ORIGIN 3. Excited for the 2 years data of eGFR slope in a couple years. In 5 years, we perhaps have at least 10 FDA approved drugs for IgAN. #KidneyWk
