Albanians should not oppose American investments in Albanian lands 🇺🇸🇦🇱🇽🇰On the contrary, we should do everything possible to encourage and attract American investments not only in Albania, but also in Kosova, North Macedonia, Montenegro, and the Presheva Valley.
The investment by President @realDonaldTrump's daughter, @IvankaTrump, and her husband, @jaredkushner , on Sazan Island is a great project that will promote economic development, encourage other international investors to explore opportunities in Albanian lands, create new jobs, and open new doors for our young people. It will also contribute to the long-term security and stability of Albanians throughout the Balkans.
This project has the potential to attract visitors from around the world, including prominent international figures, business leaders, and influential individuals. It places Albania on the map of global tourism and development and showcases the country as a destination for world-class investment.
These are not investments from Russia or China. These are American investments, from the country that has been the greatest supporter of Albanian freedom, democracy, and security, and the strongest friend and ally of our people. For decades, the United States of America has stood by the Albanian people during the most important moments of our history. Stronger economic ties with America help reinforce the enduring friendship and strategic partnership between Albanians and Americans 🇦🇱🇺🇸
I strongly support environmental protection. However, protecting nature and serious American investment should not be viewed as competing goals. We can and should achieve both.
For fifty years, Albania’s isolation under the communist dictatorship of Enver Hoxha brought no benefit to the Albanian people. Our future is not isolation. Our future lies in openness, cooperation, and partnership with the democratic world, especially with the United States of America.
The Albanian-American community works every day to strengthen the bridges between Albanians and America and to encourage greater American investment throughout Albanian lands. As a result of these efforts, just days ago, Prishtina hosted the American Investors Conference.
I hope that the investment by the Trump and Kushner families in Albania will be only the beginning of a new chapter of American investment throughout Albanian lands 🇺🇸🇦🇱🇽🇰
May God bless the American people and the Albanian people.

It has been the honor of a lifetime to serve the people of the Republic of Kosovo as its sixth President.
Together, we carried Kosovo forward. This chapter closes, but my commitment to Kosovo remains stronger than ever. 🇽🇰
Gianluigi Buffon:
“For twenty years we’ve been ashamed of who we are. For twenty years, I’ve felt like we have to play like Spain — we’ve abandoned our history. And because of that, talent has disappeared. Players like Ciro Ferrara, Fabio Cannavaro… today we’d be embarrassed to put them on the pitch. Chiellini wouldn’t play today because he doesn’t play line-breaking passes. You watch Barcelona and pay for a ticket, but thinking we can play with a high line in midfield for ninety minutes…
Italy’s historic matches were built on defending to the death, on team containment, on the cohesion of the result. Now it seems like we’re uncomfortable with that — otherwise, we won’t be accepted into football’s high society. I want to go out there to try and win, and there’s no shame in doing it with your own strengths.”

The perception that Albania is a “Muslim country” often ignores a major historical and demographic reality: more than half of Albanians live outside the country’s borders.
A significant portion of the population left during the Ottoman invasion.
Nearly 40% emigrated — about 25% settled in southern Italy (today known as the Arbëreshë) and 15% in Greece (the Arvanites). The Arbëreshë were largely Albanian Catholics, while the Arvanites were Albanian Orthodox.
Those who remained and could not afford the heavy Ottoman taxes were often forced to convert or face persecution, imprisonment, or death. Albania’s religious transformation was not a simple cultural shift — it was shaped by survival under imperial rule.
Reducing Albania to a “Muslim country” erases this complex history. It overlooks the centuries of resistance, the deep Christian roots of the population, and the massive diaspora that preserved Albanian identity abroad. Using Albania as a talking point for modern political narratives without understanding this background does a disservice to historical truth.
Albanians played a significant role in resisting Ottoman expansion into Europe, and the country paid a heavy price. Yet post-communist Albania continues to struggle with corruption and economic hardship, pushing many to leave once again — often toward the United Kingdom and other EU countries.
The same historical nuance applies to Albania’s role during World War II. Albania was one of the few European countries where the Jewish population increased during the Holocaust. Albanians — including Muslims, Catholics, and Orthodox alike — sheltered and protected Jewish families under the code of honor known as 'besa'. This legacy reflects the country’s tradition of religious coexistence and moral responsibility.
Europe and Israel continue to praise corrupt political elites while overlooking the voices of ordinary citizens who are desperate for meaningful change. The Albanian people do not need symbolism — they need accountability and support in dismantling the corruption that has held the country hostage for 35 years.
If this sounds like a rant - it’s because that's exactly what it is!
Thank you, @POTUS@realDonaldTrump, for your warm congratulatory letter ahead of our Independence Day and for your steadfast support for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Republic of Kosovo.
Kosovo is proud to stand shoulder to shoulder with our strategic ally, the United States of America, as we work together for a more peaceful, safer, and prosperous world. 🇽🇰🇺🇸
