#Pollen power: Imagine a #sunscreen that shields your skin and keeps it cooler while protecting the ocean at the same time. #NTUsg scientists have created the world’s first pollen-based sunscreen made from Camellia flowers that does just this.
Commercial sunscreens often harm #corals, bleaching and killing them in just two days. With NTU’s pollen sunscreen, corals in lab tests remained healthy for two months. Its eco-friendliness doesn't come at the expense of effectiveness, still providing SPF 30 protection and even having the added benefit of lowering skin temperature by up to 5°C for extra comfort under the sun.
