I pulled forty years of American Silver Eagle production data and lined it up against the silver price.

Something doesn't add up.

Silver peaked at $49 in 2011. Production that year: 40 million coins. Makes sense.

By 2014 silver had dropped to $19. Less than half.

Production that year? 54.15 million. The all-time record. At half the price.

144 million ounces struck across 2013 to 2015 while the price was falling. Then production dropped 70% by 2019 with no proportionate price change.

In 2010 Congress quietly gave the Treasury Secretary sole discretion over output. In November 2025 the government designated silver a critical mineral for the first time in history activating strategic stockpiling authority.

I pulled the Canadian Mint data. Same curve. Same peak. Same shape. Two sovereign mints. Same pattern.
