My salute to the Indian pilot Captain Smit Machchhar for his extraordinary bravery.

Despite being stabbed and seriously injured, he fought back, resisted, opened the cockpit door, and enabled passengers and crew to overpower the attacker — preventing a catastrophic mid-air disaster.

He saved the lives of 174 people, including Israeli citizens and other nationals.

I wish Captain Machchhar a speedy and full recovery.

There must be one fixed date for the age cutoff for all exams, and that date must be 1 January.

1st January should be the age cutoff for all banks and insurance exams.

Provide 2 years age relaxation to general category students, by increasing PO/AO/AAO/Grade B/A scale to 32 and 30 for Clerical cadre jobs

Impressive statistic.

It brought back to me a vivid childhood memory:

Back in 1962, during the war with China, the government created a National Defence Fund and appealed to citizens to donate gold and jewellery for the defence effort. From information available on the net I saw that gold worth thousands of crores in today’s prices were collected for the fund. According to online sources, Punjab alone, apparently donated 252 kg gold

I clearly recall, as a seven-year-old, standing on the street in Mumbai (Bombay, at the time) with my mother when government trucks drove by, megaphones blaring appeals for citizens to donate their jewellery for the nation’s defence.
I can still picture her quietly gathering some of her gold bangles and necklaces, placing them in a cloth thaila, and handing them to the volunteers on the truck.

Would voluntary acts of that scale, spirit and trust still happen in today’s world?

That memory of 1962 reminds me that a country’s national resilience ultimately depends not just on policy tools, but on the collective will of its people.

राहुल जी, सिर्फ़ SSC Phase की नहीं, पिछले 7 वर्षों से लगभग हर परीक्षा का यही हाल है। पूरा परीक्षा तंत्र ही भ्रष्ट और अविश्वसनीय बन चुका है। रेलवे परीक्षा, SSC परीक्षा, शिक्षक भर्ती परीक्षा और सभी राज्यों की परीक्षाओं में हर जगह भारी अनियमितता और अन्याय देखने को मिल रहा है। अब समय आ गया है कि स्वच्छ भारत की तरह परीक्षा प्रणाली को भी स्वच्छ बनाया जाए। हम चाहते हैं कि आप न केवल लगातार इन मुद्दों पर आवाज़ उठाएं, बल्कि सरकार से इसका जवाब भी लें।
