There are people in your life who will convert their jealousy into a weapon against you. They'll believe you should be "taken down a notch". Your ambition, hard work, talent, your happiness, your peace... will be an affront to them. They'll gossip about you, exclude you, laugh at you, bully you, and even lie about you.

What do you do about it? Pray for them. Pray for yourself. Ask God for the grace to love them unconditionally. Ask God to heal them. Ask God to heal and forgive you. Ask God to to take over. Ask God to stand in the way of your own wrong reaction. Ask God's love to take over, and leave no room for you to develop your own hate.

We've all been on both sides of the situation, at one time or another. Jealously is an internal wound. It is a bleeding ulcer. It is a poison that eats away at the vessel which carries it. Only God's love can heal it.

James 3:16-17 ¹⁶For where envy and self-seeking exist, confusion and every evil thing are there. ¹⁷But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, willing to yield, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality and without hypocrisy.
