@callenshaw @jeremykauffman The bike one is only easier if you know what "average speed" means. I was a precalc TA for a bit in grad school and I'm nearly certain at least 1/4 of the class would've computed two speeds and averaged them unless they had just been shown the same kind of problem.

@BFrankzetta @callenshaw @jeremykauffman Not really the bike one is designed to trip up people who want to compute the two speeds and average them. 90% of the battle is having a coherent idea of what "average speed" means. The door one doesn't target a common point of confusion.
