I really like this spot for Nabers, who is back in a full-time role after three weeks back from injury. He’s gone over this line in 18 of his 22 career games, so I feel like we’re getting a pretty nice number here.
Last week was Jameis’ first official start, against Tennessee in rain and high winds, so conditions weren’t ideal. However, I really liked what I saw from his connection with Nabers.
Nabers finished with 5 receptions on 6 targets and a 28.6% target share. On top of that, he got a 37.5% first-read share and was involved in a couple of designed screens. Even in difficult conditions, we saw just how much the Giants want to get the ball into his hands.
This week, we should have much better playing conditions, allowing Jameis to open up the passing game. The Cardinals are currently -2.5 favourites and have shown they can put up points, so I expect the Giants to be trailing and throwing more as a result.
Arizona is also a very favourable matchup for Nabers, allowing the most yards per reception this season, the most YAC and the second-most receiving yards to WRs.
Jameis has always been a QB who isn’t afraid to sling the pill, and I expect him to be much more aggressive through the air this week. Nabers should be a direct beneficiary of that
