Israeli officials obtained Hamas’s battle plan over a year before the Oct. 7 attack but dismissed it as aspirational, considering it too difficult for Hamas to carry out, records seen by The Times show.

I absolutely condemn the horrifying attack on Israel by Hamas and Islamic Jihad. There is no justification for this violence, and innocent people on both sides will suffer hugely because of it. It must end now.
The reason it isn’t happening is because the resistance in Ukraine isn’t remotely comparable to Hamas, which murders Jews with relish. Nor do the Ukrainians anywhere say that Russia has no right to exist.
It’s a deeply foolish comparison.
@Alex_Oloyede2 Russia has no moral authority here, and especially on this issue. First country to recognize Israel then first to arm terrorism against it. Basically, playing both sides for advantage. Not a single consistent principle 🙄
Why not help Ukraine through a land lease? I understand why many Americans are angry with their money being spent abroad. For sure, Ukraine can't pay today for all the assistance we are getting from the USA, but if we come to this lose-lose situation, why not change the tactics of the aid?
.@POTUS knows the importance of unions. That’s why he joined the UAW picket line yesterday.
Right now, unions across the country continue to stand up and advocate for the rights of working Americans — and they deserve our support. This week’s WGA deal is an example of what’s possible. Keep going.
@fareesh @Z0ltan_Chivai @accidentalflyer @opinonhaver If that was true “objectively”, why didn’t India present evidence for it and have him extradited?
Also Al Qaeda was determined to be responsible by the UN, all nations agreed, zero objections
@fareesh @Z0ltan_Chivai @accidentalflyer @opinonhaver No, Osama bin Laden was the head of Al Qaeda, an organization at war with most countries in the world, at the time of his death. He was officially an active enemy combatant.
Bonkers Russian Army recruitment commercial, in which soldiers under fire in a trench discuss Ukrainian real estate investments. (One wants to buy an apartment in Kyiv’s tony Pechersk neighborhood once it is conquered, the other says he prefers Odesa because of the sea…)
Fourteen years ago, when the big three automakers were struggling to stay afloat, my administration and the American people stepped in to support them. So did the auto workers in the UAW who sacrificed pay and benefits to help get the companies back on their feet. Now that our carmakers are enjoying robust profits, it’s time to do right by those same workers so the industry can emerge more united and competitive than ever.
