Requirements come down. Systems engineers break them into subsystems. Inlet design goes to performance, performance goes to mechanical, and mechanical comes back and says it doesn't fit.
The team starts over.
@specteraero showed at nTop Summit how they rebuilt that loop entirely. One engineer running an automated toolchain, designing and optimizing hypersonic simultaneously rather than sequentially.
What used to take programs years is now sub one month on engine revs.

weekend hack: implicit.js
an open source library that lets agents generate CAD with code + mathematical functions representing surfaces
no CAD kernels, no STEP files
just agents using math + code to directly generate 3D models
details below!
Tomorrow @peteoxenham and I chat with Blake Courter (@bcourter) of @nTopology about Implicits.
CAD continues to be one of my favorite topics (sorry Pete). We’ll talk about CAD kernels, what Implicits are, and CAD in general.

Another post on unit gradient fields (UGFs) a generalization of modeling with signed distance fields (SDFs). These techniques enable the most powerful use of implicit modeling in engineering applications like @nTopology.

New post as part of a new series on Unit Gradient Fields (UGFs): https://t.co/YWUrVEkdSI
UGFs are more versatile than distance fields when applying implicit modeling to engineering applications. The new #nTop logo hints at them. Expect more as we ramp up to #cdfam23.
A few folks wondered if there was any “there” there in the post on hyperbolic tessellations. Will expand the topic if there’s more interest. More here:

@delhanty
Great to see so much interest in what we're doing at QE3D! Here's a tutorial and case study on the use of multiscale, hyperbolic lattices to improve product fitness, functionality, and fidelity.
