If more NCAA Track and Field Coaches tailor the season of their best athletes to compete well into the summer it would make the sport more competitive. Too many times many of the best collegiate athletes are overworked and can barely do well on the circuit after the regular season.
Treat a person as he is, and he will remain as he is. Treat a person as if he were where he could be and should be, and he will become what he could be and should be.

I never thought I’d say this but people need to think less and train harder. It’s not rocket science. Warmup. Jump- throw- sprint- lift-condition. We can argue about how far, how high, how heavy, how long and which lifts but some version of this done well will surely work.
Tim Wakefield’s wife Stacy shared a few of Tim’s own words she found written down this past weekend.
Tim Wakefield was an amazing man. This world would be a better place if we all lived our lives like he did. Rest in peace my friend.
If Darrell Green came around again, some coach would tell him he's got to gain 20 pounds, squat him unmercifully, validate it with a lot of data, and he would never be heard from again. Time to rethink the madness.
I love weights, but I’m passionate about one thing for sure…
All athletes can benefit from sprinting
1. To get faster
2. More speed = improvement in energy systems
3. More efficient mechanics = improvement in energy systems
4. Better mechanics & high exposure = ⬇ injuries
5. To improve overall power output
When I talk with college coaches of any sport, I like to ask what they look for when recruiting HS players.
The answer almost always includes “athletic”.
When asked to define athletic, the answer almost always begins with the word “FAST”.
Great season for @ChatfieldTrack Audrey Hubbell finishing 10th at the CO State Track Meet, just missing finals by 1 place. Amazing for an athlete that just started hurdling 12 weeks ago!
