I’ve never been the biggest fan of Ronda Rousey, but I have to give her credit for this post. She openly acknowledges getting swept up in a right-wing conspiracy theory, believing the Sandy Hook tragedy was fake. It’s a raw, vulnerable admission, and you can see the weight of the damage she’s done—both to others and to herself—on full display. She expresses deep remorse, and while that doesn’t erase the harm, it is a step toward accountability.

This is exactly why we’ve been pushing the #WhiteDudesforHarris work. We need to have tough, honest conversations about the media people consume, how it shapes them, and what it drives them to believe. There are countless individuals who have said, done, and believed things far beyond the line of decency. But we have to create spaces for them to find their way back to reality. As we’re seeing more and more, people are growing tired of Donald Trump, of MAGA, of the toxicity that has poisoned our political discourse. The more pathways we build to help people re-engage with truth and reason, the better off we’ll be.

So yes, Ronda Rousey deserves credit. Again, it doesn’t undo the damage—there’s still a lot of work ahead for her—but growth is important. Growth is necessary. And if we’re serious about healing, this is the kind of moment that matters.
