I came back to do some self-promotion, thinking hey, it’s probably not as bad here as folks say.
It is worse.
Clickbait. Ragebait. Absolutely psychotic discourse boosted to millions. Bots, trolls, and spam. Hate, vitriol, and moral decay.
Twitter was great.
This is awful.
When companies push suggested/recommended/sponsored notifications into UI that also includes relevant notifications, that UI becomes pure nuisance. There has to be research showing it damages user trust and engagement. Such a bad pattern.
I’m a world class hide-and-seek player. 🏆
And I’m making sure my kids are just as good at it as me. 🏋️♀️
Forget generational wealth. 💰
I’m creating generational stealth. 🥷
Claude and Codex should have a feature where if they encounter code created by the other model, they complain about the work quality of the last guy while making changes. Like any good tradie.
@brianmichel Sorry, but you can’t just “become a G train”. To become a G train you have to have been a train in service for at least 40 years, with a minimum of 15 minutes average delay during that time. Bonus points for not having air conditioning. It’s one of the hardest jobs to get.
The Claude crashout is real. Rate limits are noticeably tighter, agents refuse to obey the harness (won't even work on a git worktree when selected, tries to work off the main repo), and needs approval for every single thing.
Meanwhile Codex and Gemini just keep cooking.
@benedictevans I don’t know what annoys me more, trying to TAMify generative AI, or concluding that something currently experiencing a Cambrian explosion of innovation will have a flat and even growth rate for the next 10 years
@danprimack I maintain that I sensed Musk was trying to provoke regulators to block the deal with outlandish comments and actions that were suggestive of insider trading or playing both sides of the deal. Basically a big dare to regulators to get him out of the deal, which didn’t work.
That AI Drake/Weeknd song got taken down because the dude actually sampled the Metro Boomin tag and they got it on copyright. Without that, song would probably be a #1 hit right now.
VC Twitter:
“San Francisco is a post-apocalyptic hellhole! Bay Area politicians are out of control! California taxes are criminal!”
Also VC Twitter:
“Your startup needs to be in SF or the Bay Area or you’ll fail. If it’s anywhere else, you need to relocate your entire team.”
@almostcmb Subscription models for restaurants and food service introduce incentives to drive quality down as far as possible to maximize margin. If consumers get to vote with their wallet for every meal, they get more quality control, and food culture improves.
