@Handlewithdz@ChaosLensX Where does the 48 hours come from? Agree it’s a civil debt but what does 48 hours have to do with it? Can he come back with the same coin in 48 hours then?
Hello Stargate universe!
I truly enjoyed my time as part of the Stargate Atlantis family. “ Colonel Marshall Sumner”. Many of the cast are still in my life to this day. That’s rare. This community is rare. #SaveStargate

Thanks for the insights and ideas about where we go from here.

The Expanse got cancelled. It had a strong dedicated fan base. The fans rallied together and saved it from cancelation to get the series finished. The Expanse is widely considered the best sci-fi show in recent modern history.
Stargate fans can do this too. Save Stargate.
I had seen the Stargate film probably in 1995 after my mother rented the VHS and brought it home. We all loved it! Although, we didn't really have Showtime, so I never got to watch the show when it was airing until 2004. I would come home after school got out and Sci-Fi Channel would air two episodes back-to-back--this was what got my whole family into Stargate. We'd just sit there and watch the show every single day for two hours.
Stargate Atlantis Season 1 and SG-1 Season 8 were about to both start. We all gathered around the (then) big 32" tube TV to see the premiere for Atlantis and were completely blown away by the quality from the get-go. It felt like Stargate. It had all the same elements we loved watching the two hours a day of SG-1.
Stargate was just something that we all did together, and we rarely did anything together, let alone watch the same show. Indeed, it was probably the only show we all had watched together: my mother, brother, sister, and myself.
We're all fans to this day and it has made a profound impact on who we are as people.
Getting Stargate back is bigger than just Stargate. We need to send a message to execs: Stop ignoring fans.
Ignoring (or taking for granted) the dedicated fanbase is why Star Wars and Star Trek are dead. Stargate fans are telling @amazon@AmazonMGMStudio what we want.
Please do not Kurtzmanfy Stargate. We do not want a reboot. We do not want a 'fresh perspective'. Trust the OG writers.

To the leadership of Amazon MGM Studios @AmazonMGMStudio ,
On June 2, 2026, you made a decision that was both painful and brutal: to cancel Martin Gero’s Stargate series outright. But what you shut down that day was also the hope of thousands of fans who had been waiting to finally see a new Stargate series, one that would continue the stories of the previous shows.
And yet, this project was not in its infancy. It had been commissioned, written, and prepared. Two years of work. Twenty weeks in the writers’ room. Pre-production already underway, with filming planned in the United Kingdom. All of it had been approved by you, Amazon MGM Studios. In a way, when you announced it, you made a commitment to the fans to deliver this new Stargate series.
But that commitment was not only made to the fans. It was also made to Martin Gero and his entire team, a team that knows this franchise, because it includes producers and writers from Stargate SG-1, Stargate Atlantis, and Stargate Universe.
The reason reportedly given for this cancellation was the fear that the series would appeal only to longtime fans, and that its audience would be too narrow. The creators themselves have challenged that idea. But beyond the numbers, there is something we want you to hear: a community should not be treated as an adjustment variable. A community deserves respect.
The Stargate community has been waiting for a continuation for more than 15 years. Imagine, for a moment, the emotional rollercoaster it has just been through. That is not fair to the fans. Many of us discovered science fiction through this Gate, and some of us have since passed that passion on to our own children. Turning your back on this audience is a mistake. Refusing even to listen to it would be a greater one.
But nothing is final.
In 2018, the cancellation of The Expanse sparked a worldwide fan movement, with close to 140,000 signatures and even a banner flown over your offices. That community, you chose to listen to. Jeff Bezos personally stepped in to save the series. What followed? Three more seasons, acclaimed by critics.
So why not listen again?
The decision lies with you, and you alone. Stargate belongs to you. No one else can carry this torch in your place. Everything now rests on your choice: a responsibility, certainly, but also an opportunity.
What do Stargate fans want?
We want Martin Gero and his team back, with their project. The work is already well advanced. All that remains is to restart the machine and follow the development plan that had already been laid out.
We do not want a reboot. We want the continuation of the adventures begun by Jack O’Neill, Daniel Jackson, Samantha Carter, and Teal’c, then carried on by John Sheppard’s team, and finally by the crew of the Destiny under Colonel Young. That is what Stargate is: memorable characters, humor, brotherhood, action, adventure, and the discovery of new worlds. It is not just a gate to adventure. It is a gate open to dreams.
Stargate fans, along with the new fans who will join this great family, deserve to dream through this wonderful franchise once again.
The Stargate community is strong. It lives on every continent. It is active on social media. And it will be there for the future of the franchise.
You have the symbols to dial in order to open this gate.
We are waiting for you.
Save Stargate.

Stargate fans can get the job done 🫡 how many other creators are out there who have made some animations and videos?
I didn’t realise I’ve made so many 😂
SAVE STARGATE, SAVE THE DREAM! #stargate
You know what's frustrating is seeing people who were never #Stargate fans/have never seen Stargate mocking actual fans for getting their hopes up, saying "You should have known better"... Excuse me but you don't know wtf you're talking about Jan.
Here are the facts:
1. The shows' original creators were determined to make a series that continued the SG legacy that could welcome in new fans while also keeping with the continuity of the Lore.
2. Amazon execs wanted woke slop like Rings of Power, and the original said NO.
3. Like spoiled children, the Amazon executives canceled a show that had already been APPROVED AND WAS IN PRODUCTION.
So to all the fake geek girls out there that are only chiming in because it's trending, mocking the fans for this. Take a minute & do a shred of research before chiming in on a situation you know nothing about.
This is 100% @amazon@AmazonMGMStudio fault & @JeffBezos should rectify it period.

I’m a Stargate fan & was very excited at the prospect of the @martingero led new chapter.
The late game cancellation was a gut punch & made me mad… and sad really.
Rather than fly off the handle, I’d like to counter the lack of “broad appeal” that is being reported.
I’ve got Boomer, GenX, & Millennials that love the show, and have introduced their children, nieces, nephews & the like. We are all from diverse backgrounds.
We also watch many of the other Amazon shows… and engage in friendly debates about them.
I’m a big fan of the new Fallout series, and think it’s one of the best damn things out there. Love Invincible. Both shows lovingly respect the original content.
I think Rings Of Power fell short of the mark & have some real problems with choices made to break canon… but it is beautiful.
All of this is to say, I think you are getting it wrong on this new Stargate venture with Gero. And there are many in this family of fandom that watch a diverse bunch of content.
Theres still a chance to right the course… and you could be rewarded with a fanbase that considers the SGU like family.
But we will also not go gently… we will fight like hell to try to save family. And don’t expect us to show up for anything “in name only.”
— respectfully, a fan

It's almost Day 4 and....Amazon is still silent on Stargate.
Maybe they are reconsidering, maybe Maybourne is hacking AWS, who knows, but there's a glimmer of hope.
KEEP UP THE PRESSURE
