transphobia isnt bad because it hurts all women, its bad because it kills trans people. it also sucks that it hurts everyone else but that isnt the core issue
2012 came out to the majority of my friends as gender fluid, went well, no issues friends were all chill and supportive.
2013 realised I was a trans woman, updated friends
2016 came out to family, no real issues, but for a long time was just kinda of not talked about
@olivercampbell My biggest pet peeve with prequel fights is that you can clearly see that the strikes are aimed at the opponents lightsaber rather than at their body
Sorry but that M&S video doing the rounds is peak rage baiting.
Obviously you won’t be changing in front of men, unless you refuse one of the private changing rooms and decide to drop your pants in the middle of the store.
A Message to Every Company in the United Kingdom.
Do not comply with the EHRC guidance on single sex spaces.
Not because the law does not matter. Because you already know what this guidance actually does and what it will cost you to implement it.
You know that transgender women using men’s facilities will be subjected to humiliation, abuse and violence. You know that your duty of care to your employees and customers does not stop at the door of a toilet. You know that a transgender woman on your staff who is sent to the men’s changing room is a transgender woman you have placed in danger.
You know this. Act like it.
The EHRC guidance states that you may apply biological sex distinctions where proportionate. It does not require you to do so. May is not must. Proportionate is not absolute. You have discretion. Use it.
Keep your transgender inclusive policies. Keep your gender neutral facilities. Keep the cultures you have built that allow transgender employees to work safely and transgender customers to shop, travel, eat, access services and exist in your spaces without being degraded or endangered.
Here is what happens if you comply.
Your transgender employees leave. The ones who stay are placed in daily danger. Your customers who are transgender stop coming. Their allies, the people who love them, the people who stand with them, who make up a significant and vocal part of your consumer base, notice. They notice and they do not forget and they make choices about where they spend their money accordingly.
Your brand becomes associated with the decision to prioritise a contested legal guidance over the safety of some of the most vulnerable people in your workforce and customer base.
That is not a legal requirement. That is a choice.
Here is what happens if you do not comply.
You stand on the right side of a legal battle that is coming. Because the scientific evidence for why people are transgender, the neuroscience, the genetics, the prenatal hormone research, the global medical consensus, the four thousand years of documented gender diversity across every human culture, is going to court. A mass class action is being built. Every company that implemented this guidance, that turned away a transgender employee or customer, that removed inclusive policies under pressure from a guidance that said may not must, will be part of that record.
Every company that held the line will also be part of that record.
History is being written right now in the policies you choose to keep and the ones you choose to abandon.
The science does not support what the EHRC guidance produces in practice. The evidence does not support it. The medical consensus does not support it. The companies that understood this early and acted accordingly will not need to explain themselves later.
The companies that complied will.
You have discretion. You have duty of care. You have values statements on your websites that say you are committed to inclusion, to dignity, to the safety of every person who works for you and every customer who walks through your door.
Now is when those statements mean something or they do not.
Do not comply.
Protect your people.
The law gives you the room to do it.
Use it.

Every person who's argued with me about not being able to change sex, that we only change gender.
This is the same logic used to take away our rights in the UK. Thank you for contributing to our prolonged and abject suffering. Absolute wild target miss.
Andy Burnham said that men who identify as women should be able to use female toilets - and only a 'small minority' object, he claimed https://t.co/FvMwsgjwdU
Four cannibals apply for a job in a big corporation…
'Well, says the boss, 'If I hire you guys, you have to promise not to eat any of our staff.'
The cannibals promise that they will not eat anyone and get hired.
Everything is going well for a while, and one day the boss calls them into his office.
“You’re working well and all, but we’re missing an office cleaner. Do you have something to do with that?”
The cannibals swear that they are innocent.
The boss believes them and leaves the office, and they all turn to their leader.
“You idiots!” he screams. “Who ate the cleaner?”
One of the cannibals sheepishly raises his hand.
“You fool!” shouts the leader.
"For weeks we've been feasting on directors, team leaders, project managers and human resource staff, and then you go and eat someone they'll actually miss!"
It’s so stupid to me when some phobe is like you’ll never be a woman you’re just pretending. In reality I stopped pretending to be anything once I transitioned. I wasn’t even good at pretending to be a man. Everyone called me a woman and now that’s what I am, checkmate liberals.
the whales will not be watching the new hbo harry potter show. you might think this is because very few whales watch any television at all, but it is actually because jk rowling is a terf ass bitch
