In June 1977 an Israeli ship sailing off the shores of Vietnam saw a boat filled with Vietnamese refugees fleeing communist persecution, indisters at sea.

No ship was willing to help them.

The Israeli ship took on the 66 frightened refugees.

Over the next two years Israel took in hundreds of people fleeing the horrors of communist persecution in Vietnam with Menachem Begin personally welcoming them to Israel while Palestinian groups like a PLO actively assisted the Viet Cong and communist revolutions destabilizing the world.
