Third African Forum on Cybercrime and Electronic Evidence
The third African Forum on Cybercrime and Electronic Evidence organised in Nairobi has brought together more than 350 high-level audience of policymakers, criminal justice professionals, and cybersecurity practitioners.
Ms. Arunga emphasized the importance of developing a Rapid Reference Guide and a Template Charge Sheet for offences under the Computer Misuse and Cybercrimes Act (CMCCA). She explained that these tools would help streamline the investigative and prosecutorial processes, ensuring consistency and efficiency in handling cybercrime cases.
The meeting brought together key members of the NC4, including representatives from @kdfinfo@CBKKenya@DCI_Kenya@CA_Kenya.
Participants reviewed the current legal and institutional frameworks guiding cybercrime response, shared data on recent case trends, and discussed strategies to enhance digital security and public awareness. The NC4 reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening collaboration among stakeholders to effectively address cyber threats and protect Kenya’s digital ecosystem.
ODPP presents Status Report on Cybercrime Prosecutions at NC4 meeting
The Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP) today participated in the National Cybercrime Coordination Committee (NC4) meeting in Nairobi, which reviewed the progress made in the investigation and prosecution of cybercrime cases reported between January 2024 and September 2025.
Representing the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) at the meeting chaired by @ray_omollo, Principal Secretary in the @InteriorKE, Ms. Becky Arunga, Head of the Cybercrime Section at ODPP delivered a presentation highlighting the status of prosecutions of cybercrime offences across the country.
She provided insights into trends, challenges, and emerging threats in the digital space, noting the increasing sophistication of cybercriminal activities and the need for stronger inter-agency coordination.

Convened the National Cybercrime Coordination Committee (NC4) meeting to assess the progress made in the investigation and prosecution of cybercrime cases reported between January 2024 and September 2025.
Discussions focused on strengthening inter-agency collaboration, enhancing digital forensics capacity and fast-tracking pending cases to ensure that our cyberspace remains safe and secure.
The session brought together key stakeholders from the Kenya Defence Forces (KDF), Central Bank of Kenya (CBK), National Intelligence Service (NIS), Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP), Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) and the Communications Authority of Kenya (CA).
