@pdragoumis @afneil The reason for record tax receipts in Jan 2026 was due to people crystallising capital gains on investments prior to the 2024 budget which increased capital gains tax for year ending 24/25. This will not be replicated in Jan 2027. It was a one off.

@jimmy_greaves In 1962 Jimmy saved Spurs in an FA Cup tie against my team Bham.The score was 3-3,Spurs were poor but Greaves scored 2 to earn a replay and he scored again in the 2nd match in a 4-2 win.I will never forget that night Jimmy was mesmeric displaying speed and lethal finishing. GOAT

@BBCBreakfast My father was in Stalag Luft 3 too. Peter Butterworth and Rupert Davies who played Maigret in the BBC detective series entertained the prisoners in camp shows and productions. My Dad took part in a forced march across Poland in January 1945 in 6inches of snow when the camp closed
