Quetta's own wild tulips
🌷 Tulips are natively known as Gul e Lala or just Lala (farsi/pashto) or and Gwarkh (balochi/brahvi)
🌷Legend says the tulips you see all over the world were first discovered in Balochistan then the sampling was taken by travelers around the world.
Those who dedicated their lives to raising their voices for justice are today unjustly behind bars. This is a critical moment for the entire legal fraternity of Pakistan to rise above differences and stand united for Iman mazari and Hadi.

We Dedicate the International Education Day to all those children in Balochistan who are Out of School
Baloch Students Action Committee
Balochistan is a region facing the worst crisis of educational access for many years. The modern world has acquired every possible means to provide education in a much better way to their children. However, the children of Balochistan face the most serious challenge in acquiring education. The recent report by the Economic Survey 2024-2025 was published which found that the literacy rate in Balochistan stands at 40.01 percent with a female literacy rate of about 36.8 percent. These literacy rates are the stark reminder of the deliberate failure of the government to ensure the delivery of basic and quality education.
We are witnessing paradoxical statements from the government where on one hand it claims of ‘no-closed schools’ and ‘no children out-of-school’ but on the other hand there are many reports which uncover the truth and reality of only 40 percent literacy rates including Quetta the capital of Balochistan. We believe that education is a right not a lottery that can be rigged or denied.
We, on the eve of International Education Day (i.e 24th January), dedicate the day to the children of Balochistan denied access to education and all those who have struggled with scarce facilities and have been able to reach a place where they can now lead their generations.
On this day we reaffirm our commitment to uphold the organisational watchwords of the right to education and struggle for the rights of students with our core slogan of “Struggling for Knowledge and Unity.”

PAKISTAN: Today’s arrest of human rights lawyers Imaan Mazari-Hazir and Hadi Ali is the latest escalation in a sustained campaign of judicial harassment and intimidation by the Pakistani authorities.
Imaan and Hadi were arrested today while on their way to a court hearing and eyewitnesses report that law enforcement officials used undue force against both the lawyers and no reasons were provided at the time of arrest, raising serious concerns about their safety.
Amnesty International is alarmed by the manner of the arrest, lack of adherence to due process and by the authorities’ continued pursuit of spurious and retaliatory cases aimed solely at silencing Imaan and Hadi for their human rights work and dissent. This familiar playbook of harassment and intimidation must end. Amnesty International calls on the Pakistani authorities to immediately release Imaan Mazari‑Hazir and Hadi Ali Chattha and drop all charges targeting them solely for their work defending human rights.
We will not be given this right despite the court order. The police is literally following us into the bathroom in the High Court and the instruction is to arrest us today no matter what.
It's concerning to hear that our respected lecturer Sir Muslim Shafi's name has been placed in the Fourth Schedule without any apparent reason. As a responsible citizen and university lecturer, with no involvement in illegal activities or political affiliations, this seems unjust.
As lawyers, we don't get holidays, not even on Sundays. I'm at the city court today to represent our Baloch comrades in court.

The Pakistani state can block all the roads & the Internet in Balochistan; it can blackout the media, but it should know: WE STILL SEE YOU! 👀 We see your brutality, & we will not stop speaking out against it! #BalochNationalGathering#BalochRaajiMuchi#WeSupportBalochRaajiMuchi
There are reports that Gawadar police arrested @SammiBaluch along with some other Baloch activists. DIG Gawadar is denying her arrest. A case was registered against her few days back. Arresting women will not resolve any problem. It will further complicate the situation.
Pakistan🇵🇰: @amnesty is alarmed at the use of unlawful and unnecessary force against the participants of the Baloch National Gathering by security forces yesterday. It is a blatant violation of people’s right to freedom of peaceful assembly.
On 27 June, Frontier Corps reportedly fired on unarmed and peaceful protestors in Mustang, Balochistan, resulting in 14 injuries, several among them serious. A complete internet shutdown has also been imposed in Gwadar, hindering the flow of information in and outside the region.
Amnesty International calls on the Pakistan authorities to immediately lift the internet shutdown in Balochistan, and fulfil its obligations under domestic and international human rights law to facilitate people’s right to peaceful protest by lifting the road blockades on the way to Gwadar to allow freedom of movement for protestors.

If correct, this is beyond shocking that a DC - a govt official - clearly informs that he has ordered these murders. Yes as DC he has taken the decision to give this order.
