If there’s one person who’s benefited from United being shit, it’s Gary Neville.
For years, he’s milked United for clicks and content. He’s spent that time criticising manager after manager, yet when his mate got the job, he went quiet.
He constantly contradicts himself. He said Erik ten Hag should move to a back three. Then when Amorim actually used a back three, Neville started going on about how it’s not how United should play because of “United DNA”. Pure hypocrisy.
You don’t see Henry running podcasts focused on Arsenal. You don’t see Gerrard or Carragher doing the same for Liverpool, or Terry for Chelsea.
It’s always United legends, because United sells. Talking about United, especially when the club is struggling, brings attention you simply don’t get from any other club or topic.
It’s unfortunate, but it’s true. At this stage, you start to wonder whether Gary even wants United to be great again, because the dysfunction is what keeps him relevant and making money.
🚨🔴 CONFIRMED: Erik ten Hag has been sacked by Manchester United with immediate effect as exclusively revealed!
Ruud van Nistelrooy will replace ten Hah as interim manager, the decision has been made.
