@continetti gets it spot on about @Israel and the Democratic Party in @WSJopinion. Is there a larger counter point contingent within the party though ? @thewebbie

I have seen some postings questioning whether Pesach programs reflect Jewish values. My family and I have attended the PGA program in West Palm Beach for the past 7 years, run by Leisure Time and Kosherica.
Our experience has been deeply positive. We have found the people behind the program to be exceptional, and we truly treasure those relationships.
Even more meaningful are the friendships we’ve built with fellow participants from across the country and around the world. We’ve seen families come together in ways that are not always simple to achieve otherwise, across generations and different levels of observance.
There is something powerful about sharing Torah, meaningful conversations about Israel, and tefillah with such a diverse group of Jews.
While others may have had different experiences, ours has been one of connection, growth, and genuine Jewish community.
I was in a synagogue last night in the center of Israel. As the prayer service continued, a tall handsome young man stood in front of the Torah Ark, his faced pressed against the velvet curtain, for what seemed like half an hour.
When he finished, I asked why the long and fervent prayer. He said he was leaving that night to fight in Lebanon in order to defend his nation against Hezbollah, and he was praying for the success of his mission. As he left, the entire congregation stood and clapped and wished him well.
To those outside of Israel praying for the Jewish State, try to imagine what life is like here. The daily dash to a shelter with small children or an elderly relative, the knowledge that a beloved son, daughter, spouse or patent is defending the nation and in harm’s way, and the well publicized threats from enemies to destroy us all.
If you’re not here, you won’t directly experience these traumas. But try to imagine them nonetheless as you pray and let your feelings drive you to seek God’s mercy with even greater intensity. It is an important contribution that can be made from anywhere on earth.
Both authors speak persuasively about the compelling nature of the primary source material they translated and organized, based on many years of meticulous research together. Book available at https://t.co/TAlyDuyDdj.
Nice to hear @SeforimChatter podcast interview with Profs. Elisheva Carlebach @ColumbiaIIJS and Debra Kaplan on their important new book of powerful discoveries of Jewish women's activities and communal roles in W. and C. Europe c. 1500-1800. Show audio at https://t.co/c0ft9JK63y
All official Jewish community events should have kosher food. It is not about whether the majority of attendees keep kosher at home. It is about holding a standard the reflects fundamental Jewish values.
Finally, thank G-d for the return of one of the public arena's most thoughtful voices of moral clarity. Powerful yet humble always: "What I owe is beyond this world’s ability to repay." Welcome back @wjmcgurn to the virtuous pages of @WSJopinion!

Beautiful @WSJ piece on everyday nobility in choosing to have children, the sacrifices and struggle to support family. Kudos @tepingchen for eloquently telling such a relatable human-interest story.

Rather than circumvent Soleimani’s strategy, Netanyahu has fought Iran on its own terms.

@RationalSettler The MAGA isolationist wing is making a national interest argument- one that if not carefully picked apart may really resonate with the base (e.g., midterm elections). It's not always easy to sell to one people why they should risk their own troops/capital in the war of another...
@RationalSettler Understood. But if I had a friend who time and again consistently made sure I had what I needed during difficult times, that they weren't willing to fight with me when it actually got difficult should be a secondary point, no?
I think this is a worthwhile distinction because...
