@NCPD_Kenya To Mr. Francis. You have indicated that Kenya' s population is growing rapidly. What are some of the best practices to manage the challenges of population growth based on experience from other regions of the world?
@NCPD_Kenya To Dr.Musingi, you have mentioned the seven ecological zones which contribute to human settlement. In this regard how do cultural, economic and political factors play in shaping human settlement?
These are the Key Objectives of the #PopulationPolicy. #NCPD4QualityLife;
▪ To attain a population age structure that will accelerate economic
development
▪ To promote initiatives that enable individuals and couples to make informed
choices on family size
▪ To promote policies and interventions that improve health and increase the lifespan of people in all age groups
▪ To address challenges and maximize opportunities arising from the movement of people and the growth of cities to achieve national development goals.
▪ To Promote integrated approaches to address population, environment and disaster challenges to achieve sustainable development
▪ Enhance availability, accessibility and utilization of reliable and timely population data by use of technology and innovation
▪ Advocate for domestic financing for the implementation of population policy and programme
▪ Accelerate progress to achieve the national population policy goal through awareness creation, increasing citizen engagement and strengthening broad-based support and action.

The National Council for Population and Development will tomorrow Thursday 6th June,2024 Launch the Sessional Paper no 1 of 2023 on the Kenya National Population Policy for Sustainable Development.
This Policy is a revision of the 2012 Population Policy, and it builds on the progress made in the implementation of previous population policies, while responding to new and emerging Population Development Agenda, particularly the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, the African Union (AU) Agenda 2063, Kenya's development agenda outlined in the Vision 2030 and the Constitution of Kenya, 2010.
The Policy also directs focus to a sustainable human development paradigm that places Population at the centre of Development. Emphasis is on maximizing human capital potential for sustainable development by harnessing the demographic dividend.
