@AlexKontorovich @MathHappensOrg Really cool demo but the description is problematic. The shape is not an equilateral triangle with a curvilinear side but is a sector. Also, a radian is an angle measure not a closed geometric figure. I hope the students are taught the proper vocabulary.

@kaysuza @ddmeyer I'm not aware that mathematical conventions change from place to place. I've taught math in Canada, Egypt, and Taiwan and have always considered these conventions to be global. Part of the beauty of math.

@mr_stadel This problem is a great example. The "mathematically correct" function is N=floor(0.4t), t>=0. I've attached a graph showing both the simplified N=0.4t, t>=0 and the correct function incorporating the floor function.

@mr_stadel Leads to a fascinating discussion about the importance of problem context. It's impossible to deliver part of a paper, so N must be a whole number and decimal values must be rounded down, or truncated. More advanced classes can be introduced to the floor () function.

@karla_macf_pc Ah the unsavory game of politics. There will seemingly always be plenty of mud to be slung in the political arena. The same was true during Stephen Harper's tenure and I fear it will still be true after Mr. Trudeau is gone.
