I’m extraordinarily low in trait agreeableness. I’m relatively unapologetic about the discomfort this causes, as I believe such trait expressions play an indispensable role in society. You may take some pleasure however, in the fact that I must live with a 12yo version of myself.
@mysteriouskat@thedarkhorsepod Humans are inference machines. The probabilities aren’t always right, but they frequently outperform standards of proof.
@RichardDawkins Just the same, attempting to instill fear in those who subscribe to a competing polity… do you really have to be able to draw a straight line to the state for terrorism to apply?
Go big or go home. What a stud. These are the shoulders of giants we stand upon. He could have whined and claimed he was "disenfranchised" but no he signs the Declaration of Independence with his home address. The equivalent of Cortes burning his ships, the wealthiest man in America personally declares war against the Crown for Liberty. These are men worth honoring and remembering.
Without segmentation, we don’t know that the pattern seen here holds across class boundaries. Assortative mating easily could have increased among the top decile without it being visible in this graph (not saying it did, just pointing out the limitations of this non-segmented analysis). This appears to be a case of premature debunkulation.
@mitm_itten My daughter tried to take off my big toe with her first four little teeth in exactly that situation. I jumped so hard that she ended up flying and we were both traumatized.
Anyone care to speculate on which hedgie or PE firm paid for this drivel? Why would a private, employee owned business attract this kind of attention? Understand first that paid propaganda is a cornerstone of @TheStreet’s business model(see also @BusinessInsider). Because of Publix’s legendary ESOP, employees are the target. The earliest stages of a takeover plan begin by undermining employees’ 5-10 year outlook on growth and profitability. Then they publicize supposed “unforced errors” to undermine confidence in leadership. The first public indication of who is behind this campaign is likely a year or more away. Someone is playing the long game though.

@pmarca This is actually a story about how treasonous politicians continue to get votes. People want to feel authoritative about their views more than they want them to be accurate.
@FischerKing64 Related. As a group, no one is better at defending their a priori “knowledge” to the death, even when it’s revealed they were intentionally deceived.
