@AscendedYield Can see this being a way to appease Israeli/US detractors of UK by making a territory-related threat that will never happen versus the Falklands (much more likely relative to Ireland), everyone happy
I've been working on this for ages in various countries: the story of the intelligence buildup to Putin's 2022 invasion. How did the US and Britain find out so much, and why were Europe and Ukraine sceptical.
It's a long one:

A single city in central China makes most of the world’s cigarette lighters. They’ve been steadily turning this low-end industry into a highly automated one.
One factory went from making 1 million lighters per day with 200 workers to 5 million with 30 workers a decade later.

Bored at work. Going to start posting. Wish I started this when I was day trading silver and could look back on my posts with a great deal of depression.
In any post apocalyptic scenario I would want a Congolese truck driver in my squad. Having watched a couple hours of youtube videos about driving in the Congo I can confidently say these guys already live and thrive in the apocalypse. In the Congo driving a truck is a job for the smartest and most talented people in that country. You have to be able to overcome obstacles like this as well as fix any part of the truck that breaks. I’ve seen these guys use a tree trunk for a driveshaft replacement, they can also manipulate an entire village into digging their truck out of the mud for the payment of one bottle of palm wine. They are constantly fighting off bandits and creatures of the dark. These are men of sheer will who will lose everything if they fail a single delivery.
Trump: Many years ago a very successful real estate developer in New York known as Donald J. Trump, I bid on the renovation and rebuilding of this very UN complex. I said at the time that I would do it for $500 million.
They decided to go another direction that produced a far inferior product. I realized they did not know what they were doing when it came to construction…
UK @EnergyInstitute has published its annual Statistical Review of World Energy. Lots of good data, but to me, one headline:
Last year, 60% of the world's **incremental** energy demand was covered by fossil fuels despite the fast growth in renewables.

President Trump on Israel and Iran: "We basically have two countries that have been fighting so long and so hard that they don’t know what the fuck they’re doing."
Head of the Security Service of Ukraine Vasyl Maliuk delivered a report regarding today’s operation. An absolutely brilliant result. A result achieved solely by Ukraine. One year, six months, and nine days from the start of planning to effective execution. Our most long-range operation. Our people involved in preparing the operation were withdrawn from Russian territory in time. I thanked General Maliuk for this success of Ukraine. I instructed the Security Service of Ukraine to inform the public about the details and results of the operation that can be disclosed. Of course, not everything can be revealed at this moment, but these are Ukrainian actions that will undoubtedly be in history books. Ukraine is defending itself, and rightly so – we are doing everything to make Russia feel the need to end this war. Russia started this war, Russia must end it. Glory to Ukraine!
In the 1700s and 1800s, English and Irish developers laid out hundreds of garden squares, though there was no planning requirement that they do this, and though they never made any money on them. Why?
