@IanDunt @DanielMDanielM This became quite a thing when Titanic was released on VHS in the UK with a length of 3hrs 6m instead of the 3hrs 14m that everyone remembered from the cinema release. BBC Watchdog had to do an explainer about US vs UK frame rates!

[Larry the Cat @Number10cat]

The kitten will REPORT to Larry the Cat.

I wonder if any student will ever top this email.

you may laugh at this community's plight but unfortunately for the rest of us the zone of potential cow intrusion is still expanding, at the rate of a cow's walking pace

All I'm saying is that if *I* was trying to pull off the biggest jailbreak in history, I'd establish myself as the world's most beloved keycutter, and then get appointed Prisons Minister.

Same poppy field, one hour apart. Light or no light? My mind changes but I often prefer the latter.

[Verity Milligan @VerityMilligan]

Any way, I’ve been working constantly on commercial jobs, but here’s a photo from the archive as I look forward to poppy season.

If you need some joy, the quotes of this tweet are some of the stupidest and most wonderful jokes I've ever seen. Viva la hellsite.

[BabelColour @StuartHumphryes]

This is the 16-year-old English actress Ellen Terry. But you haven't seen her in any recent blockbuster, not least because the photo was taken 160 years ago, during the height of the American Civil War, and 3 decades before moving film was even invented! This astonishingly modern-looking prtrait was taken in 1864 by photographer Julia Cameron on the Isle of Wight. She simply called the portrait "Sadness".

[Bartłomiej Cupiał @CupiaBart]

So here's a story of, by far, the weirdest bug I've encountered in my CS career.

Along with @maciejwolczyk we've been training a neural network that learns how to play NetHack, an old roguelike game, that looks like in the screenshot. Recenlty, something unexpected happened.

King Charles has already granted dissolution of parliament and a general election on 4 July, says PM. Sunak announced without umbrella in pouring rain and with blare of blaster in background. Inauspicious

[SODEM : "Cap ALL Political Party Spending." @snb19692]

we had a good run at Downing Street but both and amplifiers got soaked and blown. They lasted for the moment that mattered.

[Count Binface @CountBinface]

It’s meant to be.

[Andrew Hunter Murray @andrewhunterm]

Just a thought: this would have been a good speech to deliver from the library or a drawing room or literally anywhere with a roof
