@PeterDClack@FriendsOScience The Australian Continent moves 7cm closer toward Indonesia every year. In 10000 years, not long compared to the age of the continent it will be 700m closer. In that time the sea level has risen 100 m higher. Earth, the planet, the rock, is a dynamic thing and always has been.
@John_Poelwyk @dbirch214 @Ho_My_Face If Dorothea was still young and alive and I was a young man, I would search for her and not stop until I belonged to her so I could find a way to make her belong to me.
@Livelongandpr18@kjawoogie@Pete__Panda@YouTube A Communist Superpower owns Las Bambas. They are smart enough to let Capitalists run it. Same for the Sepon Mine in Laos. It's easy to have a simplistic view of these things and yes, one dictator can ruin everything, but the deep world economy knows no borders.
@EcoSenseNow The tide has most definitely turned in Australia. Climate change hardly rated a mention in the recent West Australian election. The state runs on Nat Gas. Winners of Eastern states elections put jobs and security above nonsense "climate" goals. We are pragmatic people.
@ClimateDepot Bill Gates will have this covered built in to his plan to shield us from the sun. Also, a new study suggests that cows attract cosmic rays so if we kill them all, problem solved.
@ClimateOfGavin My Dad used to buy old taxis to refurbish and sell. My brother and I would clean the interior for free because there was always a small fortune behind the back seat..plus a few dead things!
@GeraldKutney@Cypress_NL Einstein's world was a fantasy world, science at its peak. There is room for debate which you summarily dismiss as denial. And I hope your not a practicing Christian.
@HMike01@ClimateOfGavin@RealClimate Mike, It is not a factor that influences sea level rise but I can assure you a large percentage of the public believe it is, so it is relevant to any discussion of sea levels. If you need evidence ask around as I have done for several years.
@Phillip4presid1@thegwpfcom@ClimateRealists So it could be calculated if the depth of ice is known then multiplied by the area of the landmass. The total area of the oceans is known so you could then work out the rise.
@Phillip4presid1@thegwpfcom@ClimateRealists Good question. If an icebergs melts entirely it won't make the sea rise so melting of the floating ice sheets won't either. Sea level will rise if the glaciers and other ice on land melt.
@Cypress_NL@RogTallbloke No need for cherry picking. There is a wonderful world wide database available some of which is included in this.https://t.co/fssGeDoejB
@AsiametTweets@CruxInvestor Three years of zip at Beutong, a flatlined share price while the copper price has doubled and the happy smiles rub salt in our wounds. Why would TM care? His other investments and jobs have paid him handsomely over the past year. He's simply not the man for this job anymore.
@FrontiersIn@FrontSustain Sanitarium Brand fake sausages have been available for decades. If you want to try it out buy the smallest quantity because you'll probably spit out the first bite..then give the rest to someone you hate.
@coaltracker Coal markets have split into two as a result of the Chinese embargo and other factors. If it continues, seaborne coal from Eastern Russia will be the winners.
I'm increasing my share of TIG to cover this. Aussie coal seems not to care too much.
@RawlinsonJw@BurggrabenH I've been invested in ARS for years. If you can work out why management have not lifted a finger to explore Beutong (major resource, all permitted) for 3+years then you will get your answer. Don't ask me for an answer.
