Recent battlefield assessments have also recorded Ukrainian localized advances on multiple axes, even as Russian forces continue offensive operations elsewhere.

On the Kupyansk axis, Ukrainian forces have liberated the northern part of Zapadne and advanced north of Kupyansk, southwest of Dvorichna. Elsewhere, Ukrainian troops have reportedly liberated Katerynivka and Nove, advanced east of Novomykhailivka and continue to hold Novyi Myr.

Ukrainian forces also launched a counterattack yesterday along the Ridkodub-Nove sector, attacking Russian positions from the north in an effort to contain further Russian advances. These actions remain localized rather than a full-scale Ukrainian offensive, but the broader pattern is increasingly important: Kyiv is exploiting sectors where Russian forces are stretched thin to regain tactical initiative and force Moscow to react rather than advance uninterrupted. Earlier Ukrainian counterattacks have already forced Russia to redistribute forces between sectors, illustrating the pressure that even limited Ukrainian gains can create on Moscow’s constrained reserves.
