@bryankav123@katiecannon2@gaborgurbacs@TheStalwart If only we were taxing land values alone, but we're taxing both land and improvements, which discourages efforts to increase our supply of available housing and keeps real estate prices beyond the ability of the disadvantaged and marginalized to afford.
I just figured out the deeper reason that I find the "no new money, so, no inflation" argument so troubling.
It's not just that it's wrong.
It's that it allows the people who make it to avoid explaining how stuff will still be PRODUCED when we all have the power to consent.
@RianeEisler I believe that this would mesh very well with a Federal Job Guarantee; you can also add on care for the disabled who require it.

So much for private competition bringing down the price of health care, especially when the incentive to increase revenue is greater than making sure the service you provide is economically efficient as measured by the quality of care per dollar charged.
Turning breach of contract into a criminal offense? Funny how you don’t see that happening with those who hold the greater power in a contractual telationship when they’re responsible for the breach.
1/ Jessica Albritton took out a $700 loan from a company called Loans for Less.
You won’t believe the nightmare that happened next.
She had four kids and made $10 an hour. It had been a hard year. Christmas was coming up.

@hackylawyER @FranBerman If you like science fiction, “Stealing Worlds” includes an interesting perspective on autonomous vehicles, ridesharing — renting the unused time on your vehicle — and how these vehicles are used by some as a means of residence in a time of instability.

@yungneocon The Watchmen series got me to start rewatching the original movie. Unable to remember much of the comic series I read decades ago. I really like how the series focused on the Tulsa Riot of 1921, but wish they alluded to how it was the “Black Wall Street” — a prosperous community.
@ukipwebmaster @Tonybirte @CJFDillow Neither of those countries are monetarily sovereign as their debt is in foreign-based currency. Resource availability is the limitation. With Zimbabwe, when agricultural productivity plummeted after land transfers, what else would you expect? With Venezuela, economic sanctions.
@pkbna@Surgeon_General If there weren't barriers to its availability, running raw Cannabis through a masticating (wheatgrass) juicer for its THCA content would have an effect on nausea and vomiting. THCA tinctures are also available but extremely expensive.

Special attention should be paid to the increased wages (due to greater bargaining power) and nutrition that were available when peasants had more control over their land and resources before the #enclosure of the #commons.

Short thread on medical equipment, devices, drugs.
1/ In the US, employers can’t really deny employees from getting the absolute best HC products. Because of this, payors are forced to pay up for all innovations, regardless of the incremental benefit they add to the HC system.
@BenKream@TheStalwart Think of all the individual migrants who were Doctors in their country of origin. Where are the programs for a quick transition for their ability to practice medicine here?
@MaiteSalazar4MO #MMT, in itself, isn’t left wing or right wing, but a lens to view our monetary system and economy. It can equally be used to justify a #GreenNewDeal and #FederalJobGuarantee, just as it can be used to justify grants for increased #PoliceMilitarization, Defense and lower taxes.
@RoKhanna@prisonculture My concern w/ Single Payer in the US is if they decide to go “austerity” for political reasons & limit how much is spent w/ payfors or a trust fund & pull an NHS & limit care for so-called lifestyle issues such as obesity — which can have genetic and/or sugar addiction origins.
