My 10yo son on the spectrum going from not being able to read at 8.5yrs old to enjoying reading so much that he reads books aloud to others in a year and a half brings tears to my eyes and joy to my heart. 🥹

The majority white council in Baton Rouge is attempting to remove a Black woman who chairs the Library Board with a less qualified white male. She has an MBA and parliamentary training, has led the library board well.

Truth is, y’all listening to entertainers while folks playing with your tax dollars. The people doing this live in your city, and if enough of you show up you can evict them from office. Every member of the council but one is up for re-election this year.

Send them an email and let them know we are watching what they do in 2 weeks. Let them know people around the country see their racist ways on display. Their mouths say one thing, their votes and actions speak their truth.

And for those in other places, understand that boards and commissions have power to impact your life. Not voting means letting other people decide who from the community serves on the board or commission.

Do your part so the quality of life in the community can change. Show up…
