A great day in Powys with @MikeFrancis102. We began with a meeting with Deputy Commissioner Julie before visiting Powys’ newest Division in Brecon. Brilliant to meet some new volunteers and take part in scenario practice with the team.
Glad to have spent the start of International Women’s Day at the Gerallt Davies Help Point. Reposting this from last year as it still remains incredibly important to consider.
Happy Christmas from Mid and West Wales Commissioners. So proud of our team as we continue to deliver against @SJACymru strategy. Great to be together this evening to celebrate one of our last get togethers as this team with a Christmas meal as our final meeting this year.
I am #Proud to announce that our new Chief Commissioner for @SJACymru is Jane Va-Tiel, who has been with our Charity for over 30 years
A Nurse who is friendly & approachable, Jane thrives on mentoring others & passing on her experiences
Llongyfarchiadau Jane 👏

Yesterday evening I was invited to attend our @SJACymru South & East Wales Regional Award Ceremony
I feel so lucky to have been able to celebrate the achievements of friends & colleagues from across the Region for their dedication & outstanding contributions to our Charity 💚
This amazing group has spent some time sorting out our Llanelli site ahead of the next phase of our property strategy. Great to see St John people from different counties and parts of the charity come together.
Not long to go until the @SJACymru Christmas Carol Concert at @stjohnscardiff. Come and join the festivities and be entertained by two choirs and Izzy Hill, along with singing carols in-between. All in aid of @StJohnEyeHosp🎄tickets are £5 via https://t.co/4HaiShtQ0o
How awesome to see the second of our St John People Awards ceremonies happen so fabulously in North Wales. Amazing to honour and recognise our people in such a great way.
Recognising our people’s commitment and contributions really is a passion of mine so I was really proud to see the first of three St John People Awards evenings come together so brilliantly. The next is in North Wales tomorrow! How exciting!
A volunteer who has dedicated 60 years to St John Ambulance Cymru was among those recognised at the charity’s 2025 Mid and West Wales Regional Awards.

Some clinical time with awesome volunteers at Swansea’s Gerallt Davies Help Point. Great to see everyone, share some learning and be there just in case. There were volunteers last night from Powys, Dyfed and Mid Glamorgan alongside West Glamorgan colleagues. Great to see.
@SJACymru people are taking part in Remembrance events across Wales today honouring all those who made the ultimate sacrifice during conflict. Marching through Whitehall continues to be one of the most poignant days in my St John volunteering history. We will remember them.
🎆 Big thanks to our amazing St John members in #StHelens tonight!
As the skies light up, you’re on the ground keeping everyone safe and cared for. 💚
Here’s hoping it stays dry for the fireworks display! ☔✨

A very busy two days to include SLT and safeguarding meetings, representing St John with Jane to external funding partners and then joining @SJACDyfedCounty at their fireworks display in Carmarthen. A really fulfilling 48 hours.
Great to be part of the last Commissioners forum under @SJACChiefVol Richie’s leadership. I find we often get our best work done when we come together in person. The back drop of rural Wales definitely helps too.
Joined the team @PAVOtweets info fair today. Then on to Rhayader and Caersws. Great to hear over 400 Powys people trained through @SJACymru Save a Life September campaign. Meeting with @mawwfire colleagues before joining Newtown division on the new Event Responder course.
We’re all set up at Sketty Lane for the Swansea Bay 10K! 🏃♂️☀️
Huge shoutout to all the keen beans taking part today – you’ve got this! 💪🎉

Awesome to see the reintroduction of SJA Cymru into Brecon widening our reach in Powys. This means more people will be able to access lifesaving training. We have an awesome team of volunteers at the forefront of this initiative.
The official launch of the Brecon Division of @SJACymru this evening. Great support from High Sheriff, Mayor, Scouts, Fire Service, British Army and so many of our amazing volunteers. If you live in the Brecon area and are interested in joining, please contact us.. 🙏👍
