I've had a lot of angry tweets after Senator Price blamed me for her motion calling on the PM to set up a Royal Commission being defeated in the Senate, even though it went down by 5 votes.
Here are my reasons for doing so:

How do we have good faith debates on important issues when there is so much misinformation, anonymous & bot accounts, etc?
The Voice is a request from First Nations people for recognition and a way to have a say on issues that affect them.
Interesting times in housing policy.
A major market analytics firm says we need 'direct investment in not-for-profit housing'. A large developer says asking the sector to build more 'will not work in the current economic climate'.
NSW Liberal Leader, former Attorney General & Senior Counsel Mark Speakman has a clear message on why he supports the Voice. It enhances our democracy & will enable better outcomes - it must be protected by the Constitution. #VoteYes#VoiceToParliament#HistoryIsCalling
Thanks to @GabbyWilliamsMP and the wonderful crew at @LaunchHousing for showing me around Viv’s Place today - 60 modern, safe homes for women & children escaping family violence …2
Finland has ended homelessness because they provide:
- adequate income support
- enough social housing
- wrap around support

“The Coalition’s aim is to defeat the Voice not because it opposes one, but because it wants to inflict a political loss on the prime minister.” This issue is too important for point scoring. Hopefully Australians can rise above their politicians. #yes23 https://t.co/l171xucUtM
When Ollie was homeless at 16, he managed to find support. But he worries others won't be as lucky. Outreach workers from @MelbCityMission say young people risk becoming trapped in cycles of homelessness due to a lack of mental health services. https://t.co/bGuSHMh7pR
...our final aim...
🔸 advocate #ethicaldecisionmaking & responsibility for one’s actions, based on respect for #individualautonomy, peaceful coexistence between peoples of differing ways of life, & maintenance of a sustainable environment.

Editorial: It is a lie to say private schools take pressure off the public system. In fact, it is the opposite. Private schools take money out of public classrooms. They entrench inequality. They create and maintain privilege. https://t.co/NXqswr4D3c
Housing supply is a major issue for renters but it takes time to build. I❤️AirBnB but could freeing up more of the 141k short stay 🏠 for renters be a quicker fix? An empty 🏠 tax? Investor incentives for long term rentals? All ideas needed #auspol https://t.co/gTCWvfFY77
A brilliant idea in BC I hope is replicated nationally.
✅ protects affordable units permanently
✅ improves housing quality
✅ improves environmental performance
✅ develops a non-profit portfolio = new units
✅ private sector reinvestment in housing

The 2023 street count data is out.
The results show what we all know - rough sleeping is increasing. 1623 rough sleepers were recorded compared to 1207 in 2022.
We must do better, we must drive these numbers down & provide our most vulnerable with access to safe & secure homes.
