We made 12L tax free which was just 2.5L tax free in 2014 is a scheme to fool people who never paid any income taxes. Those who pay income tax, know the pain.

In 2014 personal income tax was 13% of total Govt tax receipts, in 2026 it is increased to 21%

So there is a increase of 60% in personal tax revenue for Govt. You must be thinking that the number of income tax payers with non zero tax might have increased by 60%, but the answer is NO.

In 2014, there were 1.6% Income tax payers, now around 2%, that means just 25% increase.

So, a 25% increase in income tax payers resulted in increase of 60% tax revenue for Govt.

That means income tax burden increased on people who were already paying high taxes, forget about any relaxation by this Govt.
