@braelyn_ai It’s not like YC pushes this culture. It’s not every company, or even most of them. But some founders have reasoned there’s no such thing as bad publicity. The antics are rewarded with engagement. YC doesn’t baby founders who choose to debase themselves for views.
@clear_graphics i think it depends on the audience. for a wide audience, simplification is effective. most startups shouldnt try to emulate this, they should focus on building credibility and trust, and many prospective customers won’t be convinced by a sparse landing page even if it looks clean

@Noahpinion Great Averagization of Everything. All consume from the same slop trough leads to lower variance of ideas, shortage of interesting people, leading to fewer great artistic works as budgets cater to the average midwit. Great tragedy of the post internet world imo
lots of options, each with their own idiosyncrasies, none fit quite right, most doing too much and not nailing the basics
plus, yet another third party in the stack, reluctance around sharing valuable data, etc. at least for cloud based options
for self hosted… we tried langfuse but then they released a new version that had like 10 other major dependencies, more trouble than it was worth
