I usually read a story. However, our young authors have also participated in this task, reading their OWN work to the class. They have been working hard at finger stretching their words, using their phonics knowledge, and all the writing practices. #gofirstiesgo#Linden
A few of our Most Magnificent Things have been completed and put up in our room!! A voice level indicator (to help us figure out which voice level we should be at) and some brand new bathroom passes will be very helpful additions to our classroom, I think! โบ๏ธ #gofirstiesgo
Kinders hard at work on carousel writing, sharing all the things they know about snowy owls! They focused so hard on counting words in a sentence, working together to sound out their words, applying their writing skills (finger spaces, punctuation, etc) and more! #kinderscan
One of my favorite things is having the opportunity to watch our class learn from one of their peers!! Theyโre on a roll!! #onelinden#kinderscan@KatieMillerEd
Gave our class some markers and some big paper during independent learning time, and told them to make me a poster about something that they love or are thinking about (because writers share their thinking). Look at these writers go! #onelinden#kinderscan
Today, we continued learning about informational writing! We learned that illustrations can give us information. Students got to explore nonfiction texts, writing about the illustrations they saw and answering the question, โwhat can I learn from these illustrations?โ #kinderscan
Today, we introduced the Jigsaw structure while learning about problem and solution! Half of the class identified a problem in the story Stellaluna, and the other half identified the solution, then they got to teach a partner. They did great!! @KatieMillerEd#kinderscan
โGreat writers write about things they love and know a lot about!โ SO much thought and effort went into their stories, and I canโt wait to watch these thoughts and stories grow into AMAZING writing!! @KatieMillerEd
Today, we started our SEL (Social Emotional Learning) curriculum, Second Step! Our class really enjoyed this lesson on listening and thinking..especially this game of โSlap, Clap, Stomp!โ @KatieMillerEd
Last week, we did an All About Me unit. At the end of the week, students brought in bags that contained items that represented things they love. It was an awesome opportunity to get to know each other better, and to make self to text connections to our read alouds! @KatieMillerEd
