A rare piece of good news this year is that we are continuing to win the fight against polio. Africa was officially declared polio free this year. #keepvacinating
As an undergrad in molecular biology, drugs targeting the epigentics of disease were what we dreamed of. It is amazing to see some of the progress over the years. Hopefully, some of the promise of these targeted therapies becomes reality.
Cancer-cell biology is dictated by alterations in epigenetic regulation of gene expression. Mechanisms underlying these regulators are increasingly being elucidated, and agents that alter their function are being developed as treatments.
Finishing up on a wonderful leadership conference this morning. We need to be constantly reviewing our conflict resolution. Our abilities are always evolving and problems we have today may not apply to the next situation.
Currently reading the great influenza by Barry because I think it’s fitting for the times. If you want to understand one of the concerns of this pandemic and to a greater extent the importance of prevention, the concept of passage will give you some insight.
@pauguste2016 @aafp @AAFP_FMIG It is a tremendous learning opportunity. I attended in 2018 and I can not recommend that conference enough. This is from a resident perspective but the collection of knowledge and learning at #AAFPMX is fantastic.
As we continue to fight covid, please advocate for your post covid patients to give plasma and for all patients to give blood. We cannot forget to treat the common problems in the time of the unusual. https://t.co/05pBzpGRfU

Working on my grand rounds, PREP is such a underutilized tool. It is approved for use in many at risks groups that many don’t realize would benefit. Primary care has a great opportunity with these medications to help the fight against HIV.
Cool nerd moment of the day. Enjoyed watching space x successfully bring home astronauts from the ISS. Great start and finish for the new dragon vehicle.
