@BankofIndia_IN has a history of technological pioneering. Its 1989 computerised branch and ATM facility at Mahalaxmi was among the early milestones of computerisation in Indian banking.
Today, that spirit of #BOI4NationSince1906 continues through digitalisation, AI/ML and technology-led banking.

Quick approval of the 5-day week will create a more satisfied and engaged workforce willing to contribute even more to the banks.
Bankers also needs "Work Life Balance". Honour the joint note signed on 8th March 24.

🚨 BANKING DOESN’T RUN ON MACHINES. IT RUNS ON PEOPLE.
People who deserve weekends.
People who deserve balance.
People who deserve fair rewards for their work.
🔥 5 DAYS BANKING.
🔥 FAIR PLI.
🔥 NO DISCRIMINATION.
WE WORK. WE SERVE. WE STAND.
#5DayWeekandFairPLI
5 Days Banking is not a luxury—it is a long-pending demand of bank employees.
And PLI must be based on fairness, transparency and equal recognition of contribution.
Stand together. Speak together. Fight together.

Banking has transformed. Our working model must evolve with it.
Consider one remarkable number:
In FY2025-26, UPI accounted for 84% of India’s digital payments.
UPI processed more than 24,162 crore transactions worth around ₹314 lakh crore during the year.
As of July 2026, 741 banks were live on UPI.
Customers today bank through UPI, mobile banking, internet banking, ATMs, CRMs and other digital channels—far beyond traditional branch-counter hours.
Yet behind this digital revolution stands the same human workforce that builds systems, serves customers, processes credit, handles compliance, manages risk and keeps banks functioning.
Technology should improve banking and working conditions.
5-Day Banking does not mean less commitment. The proposed arrangement itself compensates through increased weekday working hours.
Modern banking deserves a modern workweek.
5-Day Banking is justified, negotiated and long overdue.

365 days vs 15 days.
These are not merely numbers on a policy document. They represent a very real difference in how employees may be valued and rewarded.
If banking is a team effort, then the incentive system must strengthen that team—not create a divide within it.
We believe senior officers deserve recognition for performance. But the contribution of every employee—from the person managing the counter to the person ensuring the branch functions smoothly—must also be recognised fairly.
That is why we stand for:
✔ Equitable PLI
✔ 5-Day Banking
✔ Dignity for every employee
✔ A stronger and more motivated banking workforce

PSBs TURNED THE STORY AROUND. DID EMPLOYEE RECOGNITION?
From 14.58% GNPA in March 2018 to just 1.93%, Public Sector Banks have delivered a historic turnaround—while achieving record profits with fewer hands.
Yet, 5-Day Banking remains pending, and the revised PLI framework raises serious concerns about employees being left with little or no incentive.
When success is collective, why should recognition be selective?
The people who delivered the turnaround deserve a system that recognises their contribution.
Implement 5-Day Banking. Make PLI fair, inclusive and collective-performance based.

✊ OUR STRUGGLE IS NOT AGAINST ANY INDIVIDUAL.
OUR STRUGGLE IS FOR PRINCIPLES.
For 5-Day Banking — because a negotiated commitment must be honoured.
Against discriminatory PLI — because performance cannot become an instrument for division.
For residual issues — because legitimate demands cannot remain pending indefinitely.
For bilateralism — because negotiated settlements and Joint Notes must carry meaning.
And above all, for UNITY — because the banking fraternity cannot allow itself to be divided by cadre, scale, designation or institution.
We have contributed to building India’s banking system.
We have carried financial inclusion to the last mile.
We have stood with the country during every challenge.
Today we ask for neither privilege nor favour.
We ask for fairness.
We ask for dignity.
We ask for commitments to be honoured.
We ask for justice.
Let every banker speak with ONE VOICE.
✊ UNITED WE STAND • UNITED WE FIGHT • UNITED WE SHALL PREVAIL

An agreement must be honoured. A reward system must be fair.
#5DayWeekandFairPLI
The 5 Day Work Week for bank employees was agreed in the Bipartite Settlement of March 2024. Its implementation cannot remain pending indefinitely.
At the same time, a unilateral and discriminatory PLI framework that divides the workforce must give way to a fair, transparent and inclusive system for all employees.
Every achievement of our banks is the outcome of collective effort.
Recognition too must reflect that collective contribution.
We seek no privilege, only implementation of an agreed commitment, equality in reward and dignity at work.
