@HugeHatLogan @ambercrollo Also I knew it was bad. I saw the brain scans. I saw him in that hospital bed everyday for months. I wasn’t naive about what was going on. Families know more than doctors sometimes give them credit for

@ambercrollo @HugeHatLogan Agreed! Plus the thing is doctors don’t even know what recovery is going to look like at that stage. Being told he may never walk again multiple times when he learnt to walk again 6 weeks later was just upsetting and increased his suicidal ideation

@ambercrollo Also yes he is different now but in so many ways he is a better version of himself! No one ever talked about that being a possibility

@ambercrollo I remember they said this to me when I was a scared 21 year old in hospital after my dad had his stroke. Kept telling me it was MASSIVE and he will never be himself again and I vividly remember that being so unhelpful and thinking why would you tell me that
