Having a partner in life should feel like having a partner. You and them against the world, not you against each other. You should feel emotionally safe, free to be yourself, and comfortable enough to be open. That’s how you know someone is worth sharing your life with.
In a relationship, the person who repeatedly withdraws emotionally and pulls away often ends up controlling the distance between both partners. If you’re the one who keeps shutting down or disappearing when things get uncomfortable, recognize that it may be a learned coping mechanism, not something you have to keep doing. Challenge yourself to stay present, sit with the discomfort, and communicate instead of retreating. A relationship needs connection to survive. When you repeatedly withhold your affection, attention, and presence, you slowly erode that connection until there may be nothing left to repair.
As a psychologist, I can’t stress this enough: Take small acts of contempt seriously in a relationship. Eye rolls, mocking, and cruel jokes are not harmless just because nobody raised their voice. Where there is contempt, there is no emotional safety. 1/3
Liebe fühlt so:
I know I’m capable of walking through this life on my own, but knowing you exist and not having you by my side would make the journey feel so lonely. Because life may go on without you, but it would never feel as beautiful, meaningful, or complete as it does with you in it. You’ve become someone I don’t just want in my life, but someone I want to experience every chapter of it with. ❤️🩹💍
the purpose of a relationship goes beyond making each other happy or having someone who meets all your needs. it’s also about growing together, unlearning unhealthy patterns, breaking generational cycles, and learning how to navigate the uncertainty that comes with loving another person. it’s about discovering how to love yourself while learning how to love someone else in a healthier way. a meaningful relationship doesn’t just make life more comfortable; it challenges you to become more self-aware, emotionally mature, and intentional about the kind of person you want to be.
We didn't need a breakup.
We needed a conversation. A real one. The kind where both people listen, take accountability, and fight for the relationship instead of fighting each other.
"Si vieras toda la ternura que me causas cada que pienso en ti, esperando tus besos, esos abrazos que son mi hogar, el sonido de tus latidos dándome paz, comprenderías que habernos encontrado ha sido una justa recompensa del destino".💜

we grow up thinking that finding love means discovering someone who fits us perfectly, as though the right person will never frustrate us, disappoint us, or challenge the way we see things. but lasting relationships aren’t built on finding someone without flaws. they’re built on learning how to love a real person with real imperfections.
your partner will sometimes misunderstand you. they’ll have habits that test your patience, fears they haven’t fully worked through, and moments when they fall short of your expectations. you’ll have your own difficult moments, too.
what matters is whether you can face those imperfections together without turning every mistake into a reason to question the entire relationship. can you listen when you’re hurt instead of immediately becoming defensive? can you hold someone accountable without humiliating them? can you admit when you’ve caused pain and make a sincere effort to do better?
love becomes lasting when both people remain willing to learn about each other, communicate through uncomfortable moments, and take responsibility for their part in the relationship.
perfection was never the requirement. mutual respect, patience, accountability, and a commitment to growing together are what give love the opportunity to endure.
you should never be ashamed of feeling too much, caring too much, being attached way too easily, loving too much or being too much, you're honest that's all that matters, you should be aware never ashamed. never.
