Great time today at KPRC shooting a PSA for our Flood Warning System with @hcfcd Interim Executive Director, Alan Black, & @KPRC2 meteorologists.

In announcing his request for @HUDgov to directly send Harris County $750M for flood mitigation, @georgepbush blamed the situation on “red tape requirements” from the Biden administration. But the delays he later referenced came under Trump. #txlege https://t.co/GVQu8lKrPd
This is something all Houstonians should be following>>>
Houston and Harris County applied for more than $1.3 billion to fund flood mitigation projects. The Texas GLO is giving them nothing.

Update: After @txglo tells Houston and Harris County they will be largely shut out of Harvey mitigation funds, @SylvesterTurner calls on @HUDgov to halt distribution of the money until it can review the situation. Turner calls GLO's move "unfathomable." https://t.co/51kh4HIE0x
Under the scoring system the GLO set up, the city was hurt most by 2 metrics: cost per person helped, and the share of a city or county's total residents who would benefit.
In other words, Houston and Harris County were hurt by having the largest populations in the state.
I have never tweeted before. How do I look my daughter in the eyes, through my own tears, and explain this is not who we are and she should still have faith in our country? How!?!
