New #wip using an algorithm I wrote in 2013 for the VJ community: a real-time effect called 'fugFeedback'. I've heard from VJ's around the world who have used this one, and now I'm bringing a new version of it back for a series of artworks I'm working on.
Cards seem a better fit for those tiny spark ideas that aren't really fully formed notes. Less file clutter, too. Visually linking is a more contextual and flexible version of the graph view. Am wondering how to maintain a useful level of serendipity between unconnected notes.
Tried out @obsdmd canvas feature. Thoughts: Feels like a better fit for my thinking process than "map of content" lists. Embedded notes look a bit noisy to me but I'm happy with cards containing links to a note that I can visually link.
Over the weekend I found this screenshot of Zeus BBS from when it was originally called Pipeline and I had done all the 4-colour icon designs. I don't think anyone, myself included, has seen this image for 30 years. #bbs#amiga#zeusbbs
I used to think the #ARexx scripting language on #Amiga was cool, but after having played with it a bit today, and 30 years of coding perspective, it is a horrible abomination that deserves to be forgotten in history if only we hadn't used it for Zeus BBS' scripting core. Dammit.
Managed to find a Raspberry Pi 400 on eBay. It just arrived and it's very cute. Mouse buttons are too noisy though. I'm going to try installing Amiberry once the system has finished updating itself.
First impressions of setting up a BBS based on 90's code: pretty terrible UX and they sure ask for a lot of personal information such as home address, phone numbers, DOB, gender, etc. No security in transmission or storage of data, including passwords. That last bit was my fault.
