@Latterdaytruth If 1 John 2:27 means Christians no longer need teachers, why is John teaching them in the same letter? I think his point is that the Holy Spirit protects believers from deception and confirms truth, not that God has stopped giving teachers to His Church (see Ephesians 4:11-13).
@joeyartist@DMThisIsPam@ldsfilmguy Perhaps because redemption doesn't erase the Fall. It transforms the way we live within it.
I don't see the fig leaves as a symbol of allegiance to Satan. I see them as a witness that God's grace is greater than the Fall.
@DavidJohnButler Driving in Melbourne at present is a nightmare. I try my hardest to avoid it. Dave, you're either being car jacked or witnessing road rage. A guy travelled 100 metres clinging to the hood of a van. You are a visionary
@GoWithJordan_ Those who have stepped away from the Church, do not do it lightly. They come across information that blows up their world. We need to have compassion for them. Many times we treat them like they have a disease that we might catch. As an active Latter-day Saint I can do better.
@defense_of_fam Is it more about the connection people have with Heavenly Father? Is it better to have more time to develop a stronger connection with Heavenly Father, learning the voice of the spirit and develop stronger faith as you follow him. The atonement wipes sin but does not return time
Cultivating temperance is a meaningful way to protect our souls against the subtle yet constant spiritual erosion caused by worldly influences.
