On a positive note, we found evidence for a successful recruitment event in 2018. That cohort made up roughly 10% of our sample this year.

PIT tagging Blue Suckers on Colorado River, TX. Low flows made for difficult navigation, but we had a successful day on the water.

We got our hands on 129 Blue Suckers over the course of the week with about 1/3 of them being recaptures. It was good to sample so many fish, buy a high recapture rate leads to low abundance estimates.
