🤖 Let me explain SEO in today's AI era.
How do LLMs like ChatGPT prioritize content?
How do they decide which content is the best?
This is exactly where SEO plays a critical role.
Today we hear a lot of new terms: AEO and GEO (Answer Engine Optimization and Generative Engine Optimization).
But the first question that should come to mind is:
What are they, and how do they actually work? 🤔
Here's the simple version 👇
1️⃣ AI searches the web first
Most AI answers start with a search. The AI pulls a shortlist of pages from search engines.
2️⃣ It picks the clearest answer
From that shortlist, it chooses content that answers the question directly, with clear headings and specific facts.
3️⃣ It checks who to trust
Consistent business info, real reviews, mentions on other websites.
If Google can't find, crawl or trust your site, you never make the shortlist.
That's when you realize one thing:
Without proper SEO, you can't stand out in LLMs. 🚀
@emaann28 Nice! "Couldn't fetch" on a new sitemap is often just a GSC delay. But worth checking: run the sitemap URL itself through URL Inspection, make sure firewall/bot protection (e.g. Cloudflare) isn't blocking Googlebot, and that it returns 200, not a redirect.
@seo_bint_ejamil Crawl traps are the one I see most on e-commerce. Filter and sort URLs creating thousands of near-duplicate pages Google wastes time on.
@mattmedeiros@TheWPMinute Same on the client side. Plenty of "WordPress is dead" talk, and plenty of business owners still asking for help with their WordPress site.
@elliottrichmond@casagees Congrats! Getting through review is a real milestone. Restaurants on WooCommerce have needed something built for them instead of hacked-together product variations.
@DerekAshauer@ConversionWP That would be huge for small business sites. GTM setups are where tracking usually breaks silently. Curious how it handles consent mode?
@DarkWebInformer If you run this plugin: update now, then check Users for any admin accounts you don't recognize. Takeover bugs often leave a backdoor admin behind.
@oldstackjournal Overlapping cron jobs are a classic. One slow run starts before the last one finishes, and it snowballs. A simple lock usually fixes it.
@seo_bint_ejamil The language and hreflang setup is the big one. Plus local trust signals: a local address, currency, reviews from that country. A US site rarely ranks well in Germany just by translating it.
@therealmokam Seeing the other side of this on a US local service site I'm testing. AI did the research and first drafts, I set the strategy and reviewed every page. 1.6K impressions in the first 28 days. Still early, but moving in the right direction.
