The largest #tornado in recorded History happened on this day, 13 years ago, in El Reno, Oklahoma.
This video shows the #Dominator 2 surging east for intercept of this 2.5 mile wide tornado, and we ran into a power line and launched the hood into the tornado.
Very sadly, my friend and mentor, Tim Samaras and the TWISTEX team with Carl Young and Paul Samaras lost their lives to this tornado while doing ground-breaking science.
RIP TWISTEX

Sycamore, KS was just directly impacted by a tornado, and local media is reporting damage in the tiny town. Here's our coverage leading up to that moment, with higher confidence of a tornado occurring 61 minutes early. The town was officially warned 9 minutes before impact.
@SomaKazima2 I got like 3 and I’m a white woman. 😂 Ambrosia my ass, that’s fruit salad where I come from. 🤣 I’ve also never used milk in my green bean casserole, what the hell? People who have had mine love it. 🤣
Be careful being nice now… I made a nice post earlier and got torn to pieces and called a “not real fan”, because I’m not raging apparently. 😂
I was at the game this weekend and I was sitting right behind the players. They were hyping each other up and looked like they were trying so hard, but the overall plays felt very disjointed. The crowd was absolutely atrocious. There was no love for the players and I’m sure that didn’t help them.
I would love to give them a hug too.
@F1RETHECANNON The team doesn’t deserve this sort of hate. Yes people are sad and disappointed but to treat them like garbage or like they aren’t people too, is cruel.
I have been let down too at times, but last night live, I saw them trying and hyping each other up and trying to get it together. There is something missing but I’m not sure what it is. Certainly not skill, they all have it, or they wouldn’t be here.
I feel like it’s some sort of team connection, stability or confidence. They believe in each other but something is missing. Having coaches changed every few years isn’t helping them for sure. ☹️ These are just my thoughts and opinions, and everyone is entitled to their own.
