Boris Bilich

PhD student, agentizing my research and work

[Boris Bilich @BilichBoris]

@BA__Fogel @shevereshtus It is from Ben Gurion airport, you can see hebrew letters and israeli flag in the background.

[Boris Bilich @BilichBoris]

@ElliotGlazer Yeah, work mode is also broken

[Boris Bilich @BilichBoris]

Update: solved by Astra recently! The solution required some clever and creative tricks, which were inaccessible to gpt-5.* models.

[Boris Bilich @BilichBoris]

Today I did an experiment with codex: gave him a math problem that I work on for the last three years and instructed it to search for solution untill a subagent judge approves it. I also instructed him to keep a research diary. It didn't solve it after 9 hours of work and 30% of my Plus plan weekly limit, but by the research diary I see that it managed to find many possible proof/counterexample paths that I stumbled upon myself.

Soooooqaaaaaaa

[Boris Bilich @BilichBoris]

@DmitryRybin1 Read Dmitry Rybin now if you want to know how will AI mainstream look in a year

[Boris Bilich @BilichBoris]

@DmitryRybin1 You are a genius

[Boris Bilich @BilichBoris]

@feikcel Не сторонник этой концепции, но это как раз таки аргумент в сторону тейка. Если голосовать будут только нетто налогоплательщики, то они будут забирать деньги у остальных и таким образом, нетто налогоплательщиков будет становиться больше.

[Boris Bilich @BilichBoris]

@DmitryRybin1 It's not me, but gpt-5.6 prompted by me to write a story in the style of Daniil Harms. But thanks 😉

[Boris Bilich @BilichBoris]

@dzackgarza Ask it to formalize the statement first, check, then freeze the statement and let it prove. Still not 100% safe, but there is much less room for hacks this way

[Boris Bilich @BilichBoris]

Arnold: math is physics where experiments are expensive

[Paata Ivanisvili @PI010101]

Minor correction: mathematics requires pen, paper, and roughly $1 trillion of compute infrastructure.

[Boris Bilich @BilichBoris]

This aged well. AI achieved human performance on ARC AGI 4

[samagra14 @samagra_sharma]

Introducing ARC AGI 4

Now that GPT-6 Astra has already saturated the Arc AGI 3 benchmarks, it is time we introduce a newer more foundational benchmark to measure frontier intelligence.

@AnthropicAI Fable and @ChatGPT Astra are both tied at ~4%.

[Boris Bilich @BilichBoris]

@ElliotGlazer Yes. However, it managed to prove a stronger conjecture which I thought is false.

[Boris Bilich @BilichBoris]

@ElliotGlazer I told my colleagues a few months ago that Sol can't solve our conjecture but Astra will. Turns out I was right

[Boris Bilich @BilichBoris]

@cheafofstaff Plot twist: during the investigation, Astra created a time machine and actually did 9/11 as a "smoke test"

[Boris Bilich @BilichBoris]

Why can't modern compilers understand that in the first function, no alias checks are needed? Or at least make only one alias check before the loop. Seems like a lost opportunity for negative overhead abstraction.

[Boris Bilich @BilichBoris]

@TadhgPidgeon In some sense.. they are

[Boris Bilich @BilichBoris]

@VerminusM Especially for a country named after a guy whose name literally refers to a heel

[Boris Bilich @BilichBoris]

@bargman_john @Arikalabs What does this have to do with types? Restrict is only needed when your pointers are of the same type or if the strict aliasing is off

[Boris Bilich @BilichBoris]

@DmitryRybin1 With some encouragement to continue from Rybin

[Boris Bilich @BilichBoris]

@nihilunbounded He is also a very good mathematician
