It’s about more than rejecting tyranny. It's about community. It’s about the kind of future we’re building, and who we’re building it for. #NoKingsChicago
Over at @acitythatworks: Daniel Koslovsky has a detailed look at building code reforms that could cut the cost of construction by 20-25%. https://t.co/wQPCLKj8a6

Donald Trump thinks the affordability crisis he's causing is "phony.”
Families are struggling to make ends meet and the president of the United States is laughing in your face.
@StatisticUrban The rent is too damn high. That's not a slogan, it's the reality for too many Chicagoans. We need to build more housing, streamline approvals, and make it easier to add supply so people can actually afford to live in the neighborhoods they love.

Good editorial from @CrainsChicago. This gets at a broader issue voters are feeling across the city: too many big announcements, not enough coordination or execution behind them. Governing still requires relationships, planning, and doing the work before rolling ideas out publicly. https://t.co/pZPHdxRG3n
Losing the Belmont location is tough, but bringing @AnnSather to #WestTown is a win. Not great timing for me, those cinnamon rolls are going to test my summer "beach-body" plans.
@cornoisseur@acitythatworks Hard to argue with the idea that we should use public space more efficiently and stop paying millions in true-ups on a terrible meter deal.
The golden age of dashboards is upon us
Today in @acitythatworks - a proposal to optimize the location of Chicago's parking meters in a way that would increase revenue, and free up our streets for more productive uses like bus lanes, sidewalk extensions, bike lanes

Great article and some good policy takeaways here. Nobody ever walked Grand/Halsted/Milwaukee at 8:15am to ask 'should we do all of this at once?' Every box was checked, just not the one that matters: putting residents and small businesses most impacted first.
Since June 2025, @DivvyBikes has added 148 stations & 1,711 docks. Riders took nearly 5M trips during that time.
Chicago now has 1,102 Divvy stations & 17,288 docks citywide. That’s 5.2 stations per sq mi, well past our goal of 4 stations per sq mi.
There isn't enough housing available — and outdated laws make it difficult and expensive to build more.
The Building Up Illinois Developments plan would eliminate unnecessary barriers to housing construction and close financing gaps for housing of all kinds.
