@MrTomRad I wouldn’t mind the video game but writing and art would be an issue for me. The whole point is that it’s a human creation and expression. For me at least. I’m not anti AI but it has its limits (for now). Noam Chomsky’s piece in The NY Times talks about it. Fascinating.
Report it mentions is an even better place to draw from in this incredibly important fight…

Charles Simic taught a great many students. I was one. He taught me so much about writing and close reading. Things I still bring to my work as an editor and writer every day. He made me feel like I mattered. Which is everything.
We mourn the death of Charles Simic (1938–2023), who since 1999 wrote 175 essays and poems for The New York Review, on subjects ranging from Saul Steinberg to the Fourth of July to gun violence to Buster Keaton. https://t.co/uR7PCUTF5V

Ran into someone I've been in a writing group with on Zoom with for a while now. She said "where do I know you from?" I put my arm across my neck and she said "oh yeah, hey Bill."
Zoom needs a teleport option.
Excellent vid from Kerem. Watch it. It's short -5mins. You have no excuse not to.
