Happy to share the work from @bingli2 were we explore the unexpected role of mRNA stability in transcriptional memory. Not only Chromatin makes naive and primed cells different. @scilifelab@MTC_KI https://t.co/L1bTZg6yir
Zhang and Pelechano @scilifelab develop an improved high-throughput 5'P degradome RNA-sequencing #method, facilitating identification of in vivo #ribosome stalls associated with #mRNAdecay during translation. Read their full report in @CellRepMethods: https://t.co/6obECY6d81
NOW WE AT "SINGLE CELL REGULATORY LANDSCAPE REVEALS" AND NEXT "SPATIAL TRANSCRIPTOMICS REVEALS"! EPIGENETIC HULK NO REMEMBER "NORTHERN BLOT REVEALS" WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU PEOPLE!
Happy to present our first incursion into the #microbiome field with this work leaded by @sushuch and @lilithnersisyan (will not be the last) Here we present the power of investigating the #metadegradome to study Ribosome dynamics in complex samples. https://t.co/IBs77dg7Z1
A friend (who does not work in science) asked me today whether it is true that "protein folding has been solved". My short answer:
The AlphaFold method produced very impressive results on CASP14. Protein folding is not a solved problem.
Nanopore sequencing allows profiling long-range patterns on single molecules. nanoNOMe uses nanopore sequencing to profile CpG methylation and chromatin accessibility in human cells. @timp0

An improved high-throughput method to profile RNA undergoing degradation in vivo. HT-5PSeq focuses on ribosomes in co-translational degradation, and is complementary to approaches like ribosome profiling.
A great work by @Yujie_Zhang2, @pelechanolab.

Extremely good news from Spain. Significant increase for the Science budget. Hope that this is a new trend. We need to support knowledge generation to be competitive players.
We do not know how this works but speculate that small vectors overcome limiting biophysical barriers (membrane permeability) and cellular responses (blinding DNA sensors causing programmed cell death). 4/4
Test kit for SEK 10, hotplate, thermometer & pot of water. That is everything needed for the COVID-19 test that @pelechanolab at SciLifeLab is developing. The test can detect extremely small virus amounts, & give results in less than 0,5 h.See more at TV4: https://t.co/YE7G73Ku5S
In my 7 days on one of our (now 12!) non ICU #COVID19 units, I admitted 58 patients for COVID rule out, of whom 50 tested positive. Two died (DNR), 2 went to hospice, and 5 went to the ICU. That is… not my typical gen med service week. Following, some clinical observations.
